Q.How the Milk Kefir Grains look like?
A.Kefir grains usually look like transparent crystal germs. These grains undergo lot of changes in their shapes from uniform to strange shaped grains throughout their growing phases. Sometimes their shapes resemble cauliflower and may have a smooth glassy appearance. Mostly Clear colored kefir grains sometimes gets light to dark brown color when less refined sugar used





Q.How do you differentiate between dried and fresh / live Kefir grains?



A.Fresh kefir grains immediately produce consumable kefir milk within few days after shipment while the dried kefir grains will takes almost a week time to regain their ability to produce kefir milk. The dried kefir can be placed in a cupboard before refrigerating to make fresh kefir milk later on.





Q.How do you know if the grains are 'healthy'?


A. Kefir grains are very adaptive and show strength to different environmental  stresses and seasons. They keep a healthy shape and size with minimal seasonal variation but always produce healthy drinkable kefir regardless of their seasonal changes. Kefir grains are very resilient and will strive to maintain their health at all times..


Q.What I should do after receive the Live Organic grains from Mail / Postal / Air Mail

   *If you have just purchased them or received them from the mail, culture them in a jar of milk for 3-4 days. (by changing the 200 ml of milk in 500 ml of thick glass container for every 24 hours).
    * They will look like more consistency and the more sourness is just right.
    * Shortening the soaking time of the kefir grains could cause the bitter taste.
   * You need to wait and watch in growing the grains while soaking a milk at least 24-48 hours,monitoring every 6-10 hours once make sure you need to gentle stir while fermentation.
    * After you receive the live grains,start to culturing every 24 hours,changing the milk,sheep / goat milk will work perfectly while generating them.You will get a good quality fresh kefir drink within 2 weeks.
Meanwhile, if you are making kefir for the first time, try to be more patient. They may not be ready yet a few days after delivery. You’ll get it right after a few tries. 
Keep in mind that kefir grains are living microorganisms. These grains are not chemically produced and therefore could be unpredictable. 
There are many things to consider (temperature, quality of milk, grains-to-milk ratio, time), which means perfecting the process requires a good deal of practice.
